Ukrainian Vogue presents the first print edition of Vogue Ukraine Leaders 2024
The new annual format honors creative industry professionals, visionaries, and agents of positive change who are moving Ukrainian society towards progress.
The "Class-2024" portfolio includes teams and talents from various spheres of life that define the Ukrainian present and shape the future. This year's list includes fashion industry representatives, cultural managers, diplomats, curators, journalists, philanthropists, public figures and volunteers.
The hero on the cover of the debut edition was the war journalist and director Mstyslav Chernov, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the Oscar. The shooting was done during the Cannes Film Festival by Ukrainian photographer Daria Svertilova. In an exclusive interview with the editor-in-chief of Vogue Ukraine, Venia Brykalin, he talks about working on the tape "20 days in Mariupol", the journalist's responsibility to society and his triumph in Los Angeles.
One of the most famous women in Ukraine, TV presenter and public activist Masha Yefrosinina, became the heroine of the big shooting "Indefatigable". She invited the editor of the culture department, Daria Slobodianyk, to the "Unbreakable Mama" summer camp in the Carpathians and talked about the work of the "Masha Foundation" and the rehabilitation program for women affected by the war.
Among the heroes and heroines of the first meeting of Vogue Ukraine Leaders is the co-founder of the Veteranka NGO, Kateryna Pryimak, who advocates women's rights in military service and after demobilisation. Reporter of "Society. Cherkasy" and volunteer Victoria Khamaza are engaged in titanic humanitarian work in the most challenging areas of the front. Yaroslava Gres built the global fundraising platform UNITED24. Valeriya Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, is responsible for the national digital innovation program.
As part of the "Class-2024", Vogue editors traditionally celebrate progressive figures in the cultural space. Among them is Sasha Andrusyk, head of the UHO music agency, which initiates the creation and popularisation of new Ukrainian academic music. Iryna Miroshnikova and Oleksiy Petrov from the architectural bureau "Form" are engaged in interdisciplinary research work at the intersection of architecture, anthropology and art and take care of the development of the non-profit "Pavilion of Culture" on the territory of the National Expo Center in Kyiv. Stas Turina and Kateryna Libkind, curators of the art collective "atelieronormalno", collaborate with neurotypical artists and, by their example, form a new inclusive agenda on the Ukrainian art scene.
In the "Mind Games" project, representatives of the country's most progressive universities — Kyiv School of Economics, Kyiv-Mohyla Business School and Aspen Institute Kyiv — discuss the challenges facing modern education and forming a new vision of the Ukrainian future.
