International fashion community is calling to support Ukraine
In February the Russian invasion of Ukraine coincided with the start of fashion week in Milan. It quickly became the main topic of conversations both in Italian and French fashion capitals. The support from the fashion community has been unprecedented. We’ve seen major luxury companies making fierce donations and smaller independent brands providing humanitarian aid, fashion media supporting Ukrainian talents and giving platform to our artists and creatives. Fifty days into the war Ukraine is still in every news outlet and we still need help. Invited by Vogue UA, a team of our friends and collaborators made a video message, calling for action. Top models and Vogue cover girls Karen Elson, Mica Arganaraz, Tess McMillan and Kiki Willems were joined by designers Charlotte Chesnais, Katie Ruensumran, Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh, journalists Tim Blanks and Monica de La Villardière, stylist Alexandra Carl and Ukrainian artist Yelena Yemchuk, all asking their friends and followers to spread the word, show support and donate.
The Vogue UA team put up a list of Ukraine-based organizations that provide support to the most vulnerable groups, from women’s initiatives and healthcare to aid for people with disabilities, wounded military members and children.
