In luxury, she faced the reverse challenge: introducing innovation like omnichannel retailing while maintaining a brand’s timeless appeal. "How do you stay cutting-edge while preserving what makes a brand timeless? That’s a balancing act I’ve faced time and again."

For Glassman, sustainability is more than a trend — it’s a necessity. "Sustainability is a core focus because it’s critical for the future of retail," she states. She has been instrumental in advancing practices like Lifecycle Assessment (LCA), carbon accounting, and waste reduction metrics.

"These tools allow brands to track and improve their environmental impact, from raw material sourcing to production and beyond," she explains. Brands setting ambitious goals, such as reducing emissions by 50% or transitioning to 100% recycled materials, exemplify the transformative potential of sustainability. "Consumers demand proof," she adds, emphasizing that measurable impact is the key to trust and loyalty.

Women in Leadership

As a woman of color in an executive role, Glassman is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion. "Representation matters, not just for diversity’s sake but because it brings a richness of thought, perspective, and innovation," she asserts.
